Common uses of our conventional milling machines include quick modifications to parts, simple three-axis milling for straightforward geometries, and preparatory or secondary tasks that support CNC machining processes.
When minor changes or adjustments are required, conventional milling allows our machinists to make those modifications directly, minimising downtime and expense. This flexibility is particularly advantageous when working on tasks that require only basic milling operations. Similarly, when a component needs a pre-operation setup before CNC processing, our conventional milling machines handle the work more efficiently, streamlining the process. The same applies to secondary operations, where additional milling touches such as chamfers, slots, or post-CNC refinements can be done precisely and swiftly. These uses ensure that clients receive the best balance of cost, quality, and turnaround time.
To deliver the precision and quality Mach-Tech is known for, our conventional milling services are powered by two high-performance MACH YS-1 milling machines. These machines are equipped with an Acu-rite 2005 2-axis DRO (Digital Readout) system, which provides accurate X and Y axis control, enabling real-time monitoring and maintaining high accuracy across every cut. Our MACH YS-1 machines come with X and Y power feeds for smooth, consistent movements, with the X-axis offering an 800mm travel range and the Y-axis 350mm. This capability means we can handle a variety of workpiece sizes and project specifications, supporting both small and large component needs.
To achieve precise depth control, each machine also features a quill travel of 127mm, equipped with a power feed for improved handling and consistency. This setup provides the precision required to meet our clients' high standards, with an accuracy level of 0.05mm. These machines allow us to deliver on the promise of quality that Mach-Tech clients have come to expect.
